does any body know a rule for pronouncing the letter "a" when it comes in the middle of the word?
did you notice that sometimes it is pronounced as "o", see below
:
water = pronounced as woter
talk = tok

ball = boll
call =coll
want = wont

A come before ll or lt pronounce like O

بالغة العربية يقولون ان الحركات تسير من الاقوى للاضعف فاقوى حركة هي الكسرة وتليها الضمة ثم الفتحة ولكن هنا لاتلفظ ال a
but u devaite from or subject
this will come soon
thanks alot

hi Ein_Eshams

Thank you very much for these rules, and i'm sorry because wasn't participate till

now I was very busy last days (pardon me)

But I will add nowI want to talk about the articels

a---- an-------the

A: a is indefinite article ,and we use for the singular nouns such as

ad dog , a table, a man, a boy

We uuse an also for indefinite nouns but when the start with vowels which are

( a, e, i ,o ,u(

such as: an apple
an egg
an ice_cream
an orange
an umbrella

But we use the for the definite articles if their singular or plural. For example

I saw a man

Tha man was very tall

or

This is a pen

The pens are on the table

Thank you again Ein_Shams

Hi everybody

All of you saw the addition of supervisor Mysam and here I ‘ll explanation
why we but THE instead of A or AN

Look at these examples and look again to participation of mysam
(I saw an accident this morning . A car crashed into a tree .(1

(The driver of the car wasn’t hurt but the car was badly damaged.(2)

(1)My friends live in an old house in a small village
There is a beautiful garden behind the house . I would like to have a garden like that.(2(
(There are two cars parked outside : a blue one and a gray one (1)
The blue one belongs to my brother ; I don’t know who the owner of the gray one is (2(
and now I ‘ll talk about the first rule
look at the number one of these sentences the speaker says an accident , a car , an old house ,a blue one , a gray one BECAUSE THIS IS THE FIRST TIME HE TALKS ABOUT
but in the number two the speaker says the car , the house, the blue one the gray one BECAUSE THE LISTENER NOW KNOWS WHICH WORDS HE MEANS

SEE U LATER

Today i will add another ENGLISH LESSON

The use of certain tenses

أزمنة الأفعال
الحاضر البسيط، والحاضر المستمر، الماضي البسيط، و الحاضر التام..........

متى نستخدم هذه الأزمنة؟؟؟؟

1- The simple present is used for habitual actions, while the present continous is

used for actions taking Place at the present moment

Examples a I exercise every day

b I am exercising now

2- The simple past is used when a definite time or date is mentioned

while the present perfect is used when no time is mentioned.

Examples I ate my dinner an hour ago

I have eaten my dinner

3- Habitual actions in the past are expressed either by the Simple Past or by the

phrase used to

Examples I played football every day last year

I used to play football every day

Note The past continous _ i was going_ is not used for an action in the past

continuing at the time another action took place as

He was going to work when he was arrested by the police

4- If the action began in the past and is still continuing in the present the only correct

tense to use isd the present perfect
Example I have been in this class for two days

5- Be very careful NOT to use the future but the present tense in a clause of time or condition if the verb in the principal clauise is in the future

Example I shall visit Rome when I go _ if I go_ to Italy

HI AGAIN
today we want to go on two side
supervisor mysam will talk about verbs
and I 'LL TALK ABOUT NOUNS
THE LESSON OF TODAY IS ABOUT THE SIGULAR AND PLURAL

Some time we use a plural noun for one thing that has two part for example

trousers two legs

also jeans and shorts

pyjamas top and bottom

scissors

these word are plural so they take a plural verb

my trousers are too long

you can use apair of + these words

those are nice jeans or that's anice pair of jeans

i need some new glasses or i need anew pair of glasses

some nouns end in ics but are not usually plural for example physics electronics

economics politics gymnastics

gymnastics is my favourite sport

news is not plural

what time is the news in television not are the news

some words ending in s can be sigular or plural for example

means ameans of transport

many means of transport

series a television series
two television series

species a species of bird

200 species of bird
some sigular nouns are often used with a plural verb

government staff team family committee company firm

these nouns are all groups of people

the government want to increase taxes

the staff at the school are not happy with thier new working condition

in the same way we often use a plural verb after the name of a sports team or a

company
palestine are playing jordan next week

shell have increased the price of petrol

a singular verb (the government wants ......shell has(

is olso possible

we always use use a plural verb with police

we dont often the plural of person persons

we normally use people aplural word

he's anice person but they are nice people
